Rochdale whistleblower Maggie Oliver reveals the horrific ‘tick-the-box’ system used by child abusers to record their abuse as she exposes police negligence in a new Mail podcast

A former police officer who famously turned whistleblower to help bring down grooming gangs in Rochdale has revealed the twisted “pincer” system that child abusers used to record their horrific abuses.

Maggie Oliver, who left Greater Manchester Police disgusted at the way they deal with gangs, has exposed the shocking abuse young girls suffered at the hands of depraved predators in Rochdale.

Speaking on the new series of the popular Daily Mail podcast Everything I Know About Me, Ms Oliver said: “They went into a flat in Rochdale and on the back of the door there was a list, all the names of these men on the door, and next to there will be a checkbox.

“And they checked a box every time they went into that apartment, and they had to pay rent to the owner of the apartment because he was abusing children in that apartment.”

Ms Oliver told listeners about 12-year-old girl Ruby, who was one of many victims who were plied with alcohol and raped in Rochdale.

She explained: “Ruby said she would go into this room and there would be a circle of chairs. In the interview she said that they would only take one white girl at a time because then there are no witnesses, right?

“You have her word against 12 men or 20 men. They will all say: no, we didn’t do anything. But they gave her vodka, and Ruby said that “they will pass me around like a ball.”

Maggie Oliver, who left Greater Manchester Police in disgust at their treatment of gangs, has exposed the shocking abuse young girls suffered at the hands of depraved predators in Rochdale.

“One would bring her into a room and rape her, then another man would come in, then another man. By that time she was paralyzed by vodka. And over the course of months, or rather years, they become so traumatized and afraid that they don’t know where to go.”

Ms Oliver continued: “They were going to receive strawberry flavored condoms from the crisis response team. They skipped school and were allowed to sleep on benches in this medical center. Parents were not notified.

“There are so many things in this whole system that these kids have failed at. They should have been protected. A 12-year-old girl should not be given birth control injections without talking to her mother. For me, this is not protecting children.”

Ms Oliver also spoke candidly about her decision to leave Greater Manchester Police 12 years ago to identify faults and break up grooming gangs.

She said: “I resigned in October (2012), but the decision brought me a lot of sacrifices.

“I lost a career that I loved, I didn’t do anything wrong, but I lost my income. I have four children. My husband is dead. I couldn’t afford the family home we lived in for 25 years. So I had to move to a small apartment. I accepted a tenant.

“I live on almost nothing. I thought I would probably end up at Marks and Spencers. bnt, I’m going to tell the truth. wherever it leads. I went to Panorama, but I was afraid I would go to jail because that’s what they told me.

“But really, all any of us have at the end of the day is our conscience.”
