The new two-year contract will take effect July 1, 2025, coinciding with the start of the state’s new fiscal year. The new agreement comes more than eight months before the current contract expires. Their current contract expires on June 30, 2025.

“I would like to thank the UHPA negotiating committee and all those who worked so hard to get us to this point,” said UHPA President Carla Hayashi. “Faculty recognize that there are many uncertainties at the national and local level, and that addressing the situation early allows us to focus on teaching, research and continuing to contribute to UH’s role as the economic engine of our state.”
