Police in Ebonyi present checks to families of dead and injured officers

The Ebonyi State Commissioner of Police, Antonia Uche-Anya, has presented checks worth over twenty-five million to the families of the deceased and injured officers.

Uche-Anya presented the checks on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun through the beneficiaries of Group Life Insurance/Group Personal Accident and IGP Family Welfare Scheme.

This was stated in a statement issued on Saturday by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Joshua Ukandu, and made available to journalists in Abakaliki.

The Commissioner of Police, who sympathized with the families of the deceased and injured officers, was represented at the event by the Deputy Commissioner of Police for Administration, DCP Muhammad Alhaji Muhammad.

She instructed the recipients to put what they received to good use and also take care of the dependents left behind by the fallen officers.

During the presentation, adult male recipients were encouraged to behave well, spend their time wisely, and avoid bad vices.

On behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Nwali Emmanuel thanked the Inspector General of Police and promised that they would spend the money for the benefit of their families.
